Digital publications and media

Preserving usable digital publications with sufficient context to understand and cite them.

Digital collection records should preserve title, creator or originating body, date, edition or version, source and rights information. A screenshot alone may be inadequate where the original publication or file can be preserved lawfully.

Preservation should not turn a live service database, internal spreadsheet or current casework system into a library collection by accident. Current operational systems remain with their responsible bodies.
